Fondre comme neige au soleil

Fondre comme neige au soleil is an expression full of imagery. It can be literally translated by “to melt like snow in the sun”. The expression, that dates back to 1414, is used to describe something that dissipates rapidly. It is often associated with money: Mes économies ont fondu comme neige au soleil. “All my savings vanished into thin air”.
