Etre blanc comme neige

Etre blanc comme neige, literally “to be as white as snow”, means to be completely innocent. The expression dates back to the 14th century. It is based on the comparison with the snow, whose whiteness is a symbol of silence, innocence and purity. If you are “as white as snow”, then you don’t have to reproach yourself for anything.
